The Black Diamond Distance 22L Backpack integrates elements of a running vest into a hybrid daypack that´s appropriate for long-distance trail running, hiking, and scrambling. The vest-style harness holds the pack close to our body for less bounce when running and less bulk when scrambling, and it´s stacked with a series of pockets that give us easy access to our soft flasks (sold separately), snacks, sunglasses, gels, and energy bars. We especially like the dedicated pockets for our Z-shaped trekking poles and attachment points for our piolets if we´ll be mountaineering at high elevations. This 22-liter pack blurs the boundaries between running, hiking, and climbing packs, so we can enjoy whatever outdoor discipline that´s currently calling our name.
